My Story

The thing I believe most deeply — in the classroom and at home — is that wonder is the best teacher.

Hi, I’m Katherine, mom of 2 and Educator.

I didn’t find my love of travel — I grew up into it.

In my twenties I lived abroad for eight years. I taught English in South Korea, taught diving in Malaysian Borneo and Cozumel, Mexico, and spent time traveling through South America and Southeast Asia. Those years shaped everything about how I see the world — and they’re also how I met my husband Sven, who is originally from Germany.

These days I’m a Digital Learning Coach with 11 years in education, a mama to two endlessly curious kids, and someone who still believes the best classroom isn’t always four walls. We’ve taken our family to Germany, explored the Baltic coast in Zingst, wandered through Berlin, road tripped the Oregon Coast and High Desert, and foundo magic in places as close as the shores of Lake Michigan and as far as Europe.

What makes this space a little different is how I plan. I use AI as a genuine thinking partner — not just to handle logistics, but to help me think through how to layer experiences, create learning opportunities, and build trips that mean something for our whole family. As an educator and a lifelong traveler, that intersection of curiosity, technology, and adventure is where I live.

No perfectly curated highlight reels — just honest recommendations from someone who has been traveling her whole adult life and wants to help your family do the same.
